Having stayed on a fruit farm before and having spent time in Tulbagh before we had expectations of heat, flies and noise. Well we have a pleasant surprise for you.
These cottages are situated on a fruit farm at the base of Winterhoek Mountains. The area is green and fresh. The sound is only broken by the call of a bird or the fall of an acorn. This is truly a small slice of heaven in the farm lands of Tulbagh.
Just a few meters off the main access road you discover 3 picturesque cottages alongside of quick flowing brook. This brook along with others is the life force of this great place. The afternoons are long and cool and the silence peaceful.
We got to experience the honeymoon cottage and were not disappointed. The comfort of the bed and gorgeous view of the farm made our stay a memorable one. A private parking just for us along with a private inside and outside braai\fireplace. Four large sliding doors that not only invite nature inside, it also make it a part of your experience. A comfortable bed and relaxing coaches are there for your pleasure.
If you don't just want to vegetate with your love or a good book then there is plenty to do in town and the surrounding area. Hiking, cycling, wine and much more is just waiting to excite your day and a warm snuggle in front of the fire at night. You will discover that two nights is just enough time to enjoy Tulbagh, the area and this farm.
The open plan cottage allows for that intimate moment no matter where your love wonders off to. The kitchen has all the needed utensils to dish up a storm. A large bath or shower is just waiting for a candle and rose petals to spice up the evening. If things do get a little hot then the aircon is situated right above the bed.
We experienced very few flies. The heat was quenched by the cool breeze. The noise broken by the sound of ones own voice. However: this is a working fruit farm, so expect some movement between the trees and on the roads.
Depending on the season bring a warm jacket. Good walking or hiking boots as there is plenty to see and do.
Gets very hot in summer, set the aircon on low while you sleep
