2nd Stop - Hermanus

You travel along the N2, over two passes to come into the beautiful town of Hermanus. Originally called Hermanuspietersfontein, but shortened in 1902 as the name was too long for the postal service, is a town on the southern coast of the Western Cape province of South Africa.

3rd Stop - Southern Right Charters

Experience an up close and personal encounter with Southern Right Charters and meet the 'gentle giants' of the ocean that promises to be an 'experience to be treasured'.

4th Stop - Lunch Time

By now you are hungry and it's time to stop and enjoy from true Hermanus seafood at one of our local restaurants.

5th Stop - Creation Wine Estate

6th Stop - Hemel en Aarde Village

The Hemel en Aarde Village at the entrance is a great place to start - with the resourceful Wine Village, some of the region's best restaurants, great art, ceramics, interior decorating and much more. (On own account)

7th Stop - Fernkloof Gardens

The Fernkloof Gardens covers 18 square kilometres in the Kleinrivier Mountains in Hermanus and ranges in altitude from sea level to 842 m.The Reserve lies across almost the entire northern side of the town with a 60 km network of trails. These provide the opportunity for people of all fitness levels to enjoy some exercise and fresh air.

8th Stop - Gordons Bay

Gordons Bay is a harbour town in the Western Cape province of South Africa, close to Strand. It is situated on the northeastern corner of False Bay about 50 km from Cape Town to the south of the N2 (South Africa) national road and is named after Robert Jacob Gordon (1743-1795), the Dutch explorer of Scottish descent.

9th Stop - Drop Off

After an exciting day of discovery we find our way back to the V & A Waterfront or your hotel nearby.

OVERVIEW

This popular tour is specifically aimed at viewing the magnificent Southern Right whale. We travel to the quaint coastal town of Hermanus, arguably the best land based whale watching spot in the world. We explore the town, enjoy a wine tasting at a nearby Wine Estate or Vinotique and travel a circular route, taking in the breathtaking coastal scenery as well as paying a visit to the Fernkloof Botanical Gardens.

Whale watching season occurs between July and September, however in the off season there is still plenty to see and do. Take the opportunity to walk the charming elevated foot paths of this lovely seaside village or explore it's art galleries, markets and book shops. Out of season we include a tour of the Fernkloof Botanical Gardens.
