You travel along the coastline learning about both Clifton and Camps Bay, Bakoven and the Twelve Apostles Mountain Range, passing Llandudno and dropping down into the Republic of Hout Bay.
If you wish to catch a boat out to visit Seal Island (optional extra - on own account) or you can browse around the local trinket market for a bargain or two.
You now travel across the bay and over Chapman's Peak drive with a brief stop on top for a photo or two. From Chapman's Peak you can see the full view of Hout Bay Harbour and the boats coming and going to Seal Island.
You now travel to the area known as Cape Point and after entering the Nature reserve you first make a stop at Cape of Good Hope for some amazing views and a photo of two. Learn all about how it got it's name.
You now travel up to Cape Point and either catch the Funicular (optional extra - on own account) or take a walk up to the top.
You now travel to coastal drive past Muizenberg en-route to Stellenbosch. What awaits is a beautiful little town rich in Dutch colonial history and surrounded by vineyards.
After dark this busy town becomes more relaxed with sidewalk cafe's playing host to tourists and young, inspiring minds.
After checking out of Besigheim GuestHouse (or similar) we spent the day touring the very heart of the winelands namely, Stellenbosch, Paarl and Franschhoek.
The Fairview Wine Estate is a working farm, housing a collection of micro-businesses all sharing in a common goal - to create artisanal and sustainable produce, with a focus on fine wine and cheese.
You now travel deep into the heart of wine making country and discover the riches and history hidden within. Discover the Franschhoek Monument and Museum. (Optional Extra - on own account)
Still while in the Franschhoek read you visit one of the finest wine estates in the area La Motte Wine Estate boasts some of the finest wines and views in the Franschhoek area.
We then take the Franschhoek pass to the apple growing areas of Grabouw and Elgin, en-route to the coastal town of Hermanus, where we check into a 3-star hotel or similar for the night, on a bed and breakfast basis. Originally called Hermanuspietersfontein, but shortened in 1902 as the name was too long for the postal service, is a town on the southern coast of the Western Cape province of South Africa.
After checking out of Cliff Cottage (or similar) we drive up the rotary way to view the town from the top then off to wine tastings in the 'Hemel and Aarde' Valley before setting off for Cape Town.
The Hemel en Aarde Village at the entrance is a great place to start - with the resourceful Wine Village, some of the region's best restaurants, great art, ceramics, interior decorating and much more. (On own account)
We visit the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens at Betty's Bay, famed for it's coastal fynbos (the name for the local floristic kingdom).
It encompasses mountain slopes with wind-clipped heathlands, deep gorges with relict forests, flats and marshes with restios, sedges and bulbs, as well as dunes adjacent to the beach with specialised salt-adapted plants. The Garden is renowned for its waterfalls and amber pools.
Gordons Bay is a harbour town in the Western Cape province of South Africa, close to Strand. It is situated on the northeastern corner of False Bay about 50 km from Cape Town to the south of the N2 (South Africa) national road and is named after Robert Jacob Gordon (1743-1795), the Dutch explorer of Scottish descent.
After an exciting day of discovery we find our way back to the V & A Waterfront or your hotel nearby or Cape Town International Airport.
